A Welsh village postmaster has been jailed for 15 months after being found guilty of stealing up to £50,000 from his employer.
Victor Ingham, a 62-year-old who worked at the sub post office in Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, needed the money to pay for his gambling addiction and debts associated with his habit, icNorthWales reports.
Mr Ingham fiddled the books for two whole years before being caught.
The judge, Merfyn Hughes, heard how Mr Ingham had paid back £67,000 having borrowed money from his brother-in-law.
The money he acquired he used to pay debts, tax bills and to fund his penchant for lottery scratchcards, although there is still a substantial amount of money that has yet to be accounted for.
Mr Ingham remains tens of thousands of pounds in debt due to credit card debts.
