NatWest tries to spark savings

09/03/2006 17:53:00

NatWest has announced the return of its piggy banks in an attempt to get Britons saving again.

The new, gold Woody will be available to everyone who opens a savings account with the bank between now and April 14th.

Many people will recognise the smiling pig as something that was given to them when they reached a milestone in their savings.

Helen Page, NatWest marketing director, said: "We are thrilled that the NatWest pigs are back … as historically they are the face of NatWest savings."

Furthermore, everyone who opens an account between now and April 14th will be entered into a prize draw, which could see them winning £10,000.

The news comes shortly after it was revealed that the number of Britons facing problem debt is at an all time high.
