Grandmother left with not a lotto money

10/03/2006 17:54:00

Noreen Wardle, grandmother of teenage lotto winner Callie Rogers, has been declared bankrupt.

The 68-year-old ran up large amounts of debt on store and catalogue cards, forcing bailiffs to visit her house.

Ms Warlde told the Mirror: "I'm in such a state now you would never believe my granddaughter is a lottery winner."

Friends of the broke gran say that she had alerted the official receiver of the state of her financial affairs because she feared losing her possessions.

Meanwhile, Ms Rogers has refused to comment on the situation but earlier said that the £1.9 million lotto win in July 2003 "ruined" her life.
