People attempting to battle debt in the UK are finding the zero per cent interest rate on credit cards the most popular feature.
A survey by the Fair Investment Company found 21 per cent of people thought the zero per cent rate on cards was the most important feature when looking for a new provider.
The card having a competitive rate and no annual fee were rated as joint second in the survey, with 18 per cent each.
Fair Investment said that in the climate of tight credit, customers are "wising up to the fact that the important freebies are those that give something back".
The poll also found that 16 per cent of people are willing to sacrifice a holiday to save money with five per cent saying a card which offers airmiles is the most important feature.
It was revealed earlier this week that young people are "hooked" on credit cards, as a means to fund their busy lifestyles.
